As a business owner, your time should be spent on work that brings maximum revenue and profits to your company. Period. To leverage your value, you have to identify your time wasters and take them off your plate. Make a list of 10 tasks you perform every day. If there isn’t maximum revenue attached to each of those tasks, they are time wasters. When managers understand the true value of their time in relation to their bottom line, it’s easy to reassign those tasks. But a lot of managers struggle to let go with excuses like “it doesn’t take much of my time” or “if I want it done right, I have to do it myself”. If it doesn't take any time, you're not valuing your time appropriately. And if “I have to do it myself”, you have either hired the wrong person or you have an accountability issue.
